After hitting his first home run of the day to tie the single-season rookie home run record, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge decided he might as well break the record today as well.
Judge launched his second home run of the day in the seventh inning to make history, which would also turn out to be home run number 50 on the season for him.
With the blast, the right-fielder is now the only player in major league baseball history with 50 home runs in their first season. He is in a class all by himself.
He has become one of five players in Yankees franchise history to reach the 50 home run mark, joining Ruth, Mantle, Maris and Rodriguez. An illustrious group to say the least.
This is a rookie season that will surely go down in the history books as being one of the greatest of all time.
