WOW. That’s about all the description required for Penn State’s thrilling victory at Kinnick Stadium against the Iowa Hawkeyes Saturday night.

A six-yard touchdown pass from Trace McSorley to Juwan Johnson with time expiring kept Penn State’s undefeated record and, more importantly, College Football Playoff hopes alive in a thrilling 21-19 victory Saturday night.

The Nittany Lions jumped out to a 15-7 lead after three quarters, but Iowa scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter, the last with 1:42 remaining, to take a 19-15 lead. That was just enough time for McSorley to drive down the field and secure the victory.

Penn State ran 99 plays for 541 yards, the bulk of which came from Heisman Trophy candidate Saquon Barkley. The scintillating running back carried the ball 28 times for 211 yards and a touchdown, He also led Penn State in receiving, catching 12 passes for 94 yards.

PSU returns to Beaver Stadium to take on Indiana next Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on the Big Ten Network.
