Ryan Goins pulled off a thumbs-up worthy hidden-ball trick Friday night at the Rogers Centre.

In the third inning of an AL-East clash between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays, shortstop Ryan Goins pulled off some Todd Helton-esque trickery.

Following a leadoff double from Todd Frazier, Jacoby Ellsbury flew out to right fielder Jose Bautista.

Bautista then threw the ball to Goins, who then pretended to send the ball back to Jays starter Marco Estrada.

Goins then hid the ball in his glove, patiently waited for the Yankees slugger to step off second base, and then tagged him below the waist.

Frazier was caught off-guard and immediately pled that his foot never left the base. Unfortunately, umpire Mark Carlson didn’t buy it and called him out to end the inning.

Turns out Goins wasn’t done torturing the Yankees this evening, as he also belted a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend the lead to 8-1 in favor of the Jays.

The homer ended Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka‘s night, who ended with 5.2 innings pitched, and eight runs (seven earned).
