With the New York Yankees coming off yet another victory against Minnesota, here’s the news and notes you need to know.
In Wednesday, September 20, 2017’s edition of New York Yankees Bronx Bomber Buzz, we take a look at an update regarding where the Yankees stand in the playoff race for both the Wild Card and the AL East.
Regarding the possibility of winning the division, the probability keeps getting smaller as the days go by. The Yankees just can’t seem to win on days when Boston loses, however, they are still keeping pace nicely.
They are currently three games back of first place with just about 11 games left in the season, while it is unlikely it is still very much possible they could steal the division.
New York is much better set-up for a Wild Card spot which will force them to play in the do-or-die Wild Card game where we all know anything could happen.
The Yankees currently have a six-game lead in the first Wild Card position over the Minnesota Twins and look like they have the Twins’ number over these past couple of games.
While a Wild Card game may not be what the Yankees want to settle for, it may be what they might have to wind up playing in order to see some October spotlight this season.
