We realize the 2017 New York Jets are awful, but come on. None of the winless 0-16 conversation should even be close to commencing.

You cannot be serious. You. Yes, you. I’m talking to you and anybody else who’s senseless enough to already map out the New York Jets winless 0-16 National Football League regular season in 2017.

The record is 0-2. It’s not good. It’s everything we thought it would be.

At the same time, it’s not on the disastrous level.

The Jets fell to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1 by the final of 21-12. They then were destroyed by the Oakland Raiders, 45-20, but were actually in the game and had captured the momentum with under two minutes to go in the first half.

Brian Costello of the New York Post agrees with this senseless winless discussion. In his Monday column, he points out that only three more games separate the Jets from the 0-16 countdown.

There’s still a long way to go before 0-16 can realistically be discussed ’round the campfire.

Head coach Todd Bowles is still confident his team can make a little noise, via AP.

“Well, we’re still learning about the identity part, but I know we have a lot of fight in us,” Bowles said during a conference call Monday. “We just have to not make the mistakes we’ve been making.”
