Brian Boyle — one of the newest members of the New Jersey Devils, was faced with some unfortunate news Tuesday evening.

Right now, I’m not here to talk about hockey. We’ve got something much more serious on our hands right now with recently acquired New Jersey Devils forward Brian Boyle. About fifteen minutes ago, team All Access Host Amanda Stein posted a mysterious tweet that had fans curious as to what it was about.

Though it was odd that the Devils were holding this press conference, news leaked before the official word.

Boyle was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, which is a cancer of the bone marrow. When you hear the word cancer, your heart drops and you feel awful for that person.

The doctors caught the cancer early and Boyle is expecting to make a full recovery with medication. Hopefully, this means that Boyle can avoid chemotherapy.

Fortunately, Boyle seems to be in good spirits, despite the unfortunate situation.

It looks as if Boyle is going to continue playing and even said that he wants to be ready for opening night.

Let’s hope that Boyle is on the fast track to a speedy recovery and can get back to the game that he loves to play.
