Today’s Brooklyn Nets News features quotes from Jarrett Allen’s interview with Nets Daily and D’Angelo Russell working out with Dwyane Wade.

Brooklyn Nets newcomer D’Angelo Russell has been busy this summer. Not only was he traded to his new team, but he’s been very active in adapting to the Brooklyn culture.

Friday night, Russell represented the Nets at the league-wide unveiling of the new ‘Statement’ jerseys. Following the jersey ceremony, Russell worked out with Dwyane Wade and Julius Randle.

Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders spoke with Russell prior to the jersey reveal, who said he remains closest with Randle of all his former Lakers’ teammates. Making the late night workout invite no surprise at all.

As far as Wade’s involvement goes, maybe Russell is campaigning for him to join the Nets, once and if he reaches that buyout agreement with Chicago. A kid can dream.

Speaking of Russell, fellow Nets newcomer Jarrett Allen had only positive things to say about him when interviewing with Anthony Puccio of Nets Daily.

“He’s great with the ball, makes good decisions and makes really good passes. He’s going to find me.”

With his 6-10 frame, Allen sees plenty of future opportunities playing off the pick and roll next to Russell.

“Being 6-10 and athletic I’ll be doing a lot of pick-and-rolls with D’Angelo – set him good screens, roll to the basket or pop and let him do his work and lob it up to me eventually.”

Allen is coming off an established freshman season at Texas University, where he averaged 13.4 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He was selected by the Brooklyn Nets with the 22nd pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.
