The New York Rangers participated in the annual Golf Tournament, players picked out new sweater numbers and legends got back together.

Yesterday marked the 35th annual New York Rangers Golf Classic. Headlining the guest list are current and former Rangers plus coaches and other staff members. Brady Skjei looked to have the prettiest of swings on the range in the morning as he was warming up for a day of fun and laughs.

Skjei also had the putter working later as he drained a big one for his team.

The tournament is also a tremendous opportunity for Rangers alumni to come together and enjoy each others company. More experienced Rangers fans will remember the famous “GAG” line from the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. The line was comprised of soon to be retiree Jean Ratelle, Rod Gilbert and Vic Hadfield. The “GAG” line, otherwise known as the Goal A Game line, revolutionized the hockey world with their chemistry at the time.

Finally, in some more current hockey news, some new faces picked their new jersey numbers for next season. David Desharnais will stick with 51, a number he wore in Montreal. Nick Holden, who gave up 22 to Kevin Shattenkirk, will now wear #55 and new backup goalie Ondrej Pavelec will wear 31.

The countdown is on folks, as we are only 20 days away from puck drop. Stay tuned to ESNY’s Rangers coverage of Training Camp too, as the players report today for medical checks. Coach Alain Vigneault will address the media for the first time this season at 2:30 PM.
