The New York Knicks have reportedly agreed to a one-year non-guaranteed deal with veteran point guard Jarrett Jack.
The New York Knicks aren’t done adding veteran point guards. After signing 31-year-old Ramon Sessions to a one-year deal back in Aug., the team has decided to bring another experienced floor general into the fray.
Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders reports that former Net Jarrett Jack has agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with the Knicks.
Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN first reported New York’s interest in Jack back in Aug. It appears the team has finally made it official. Jack, 33, has played for seven different teams in 12 NBA seasons. Most recently, he had a two game stint with the Pelicans.
Jack played in Brooklyn for two seasons and ended up taking over the starting role when Deron Williams got hurt. Although his play has declined, Jack was one of the best backup point guards in the NBA in his prime.
He joins Sessions, Ron Baker, Chasson Randle, and Frank Ntilikina, on the Knicks point guard depth chart. General manager Scott Perry must see Jack as another mentor to Frank. Randle’s contract is non-guaranteed as well. Randle and Jack could be competing for a roster spot.
