The New York Yankees will take on the Tampa Bay Rays this week in New York, but as the road team.

With southern Florida being devastated by Hurricane Irma, Major League Baseball moved the New York Yankees series against the Tampa Bay Rays to Citi Field, beginning on Monday evening.

This is the second time this season that a series had to be relocated due to a natural disaster. The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers had moved from Houston to Tampa Bay at the end of August.

Baby Bash Bros

Gary Sanchez clubbed two home runs in Sunday’s victory over the Texas Rangers, giving him a total of 30 for the year. Sanchez became the 14th catcher in American League history to hit more than 30 home runs in a season. Carlton Fisk holds the record with 37 in 1985.

The Kraken’s last home run was the 50th of his career in just his 161 games played. Sanchez trails only Rudy York in quickest career games to reach the milestone.

Along with Sanchez, Aaron Judge also hit a historic home run on Sunday. His first home run of the day was his 40th of 2017, making him the second rookie in history with 40 home runs in a season.

Walking on sunshine

After drawing his 107th walk of 2017, Aaron Judge set the record for most walks as a rookie, passing the likes of Ted Williams.

Judge became the first player in Yankees history to hit 40 home runs and draw over 100 walks.

Judge has about twenty games left to add on to these totals, and improve on his already record-breaking season.
