Brandon Marshall again is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Here’s why his latest comments sting the most.

There’s nothing quite like the man love between quarterback and wide receiver. This became even more evident with Brandon Marshall’s recent comments, per Fox Sports’ Peter Schrager:

We all remember how infamously Marshall said that he was going to “go down in the boat” with Fitzpatrick. He was his guy, and he was always going to be his guy. Obviously, that was his downfall with the New York Jets.

He’s a player that always wears his heart on his sleeve—for better or worse. Although in terms of the quarterbacks that Marshall has played with in his career, Eli Manning is perhaps the most emotionless. It’s going to be an odd combination to watch throughout the season with the New York Giants.

For those taking the quote seriously, what you can’t read in 140 characters is tone. Marshall was smiling when he said it, obviously joking. Although if Marshall is feeling daring, Manning might not be such a bad boat to tie his anchor to. Manning has started the third-most consecutive games in NFL history and is a future Hall of Fame inductee.

None of the other QBs Marshall has played with can say the same.
