While the New York Yankees have been drawing tons of fans through the gate, their biggest player has been working to get better with no one watching.
People will come, Brian Cashman. They most certainly will come. New York Yankees fans have been coming out in waves to support the Bombers. The team has drawn almost 2.5 million fans in their 61 home games.
The Yankees are on pace to draw nearly 3.3 million fans this season, which would be a 250,000 increase from 2016 and their highest total since 2014. The Yankees only trail the Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants in average attendance.
Aaron Judge Putting In Work
While there are tens of thousands of people filling up the seats, Aaron Judge is putting in extra work when the stadium is practically empty. Judge was spotted doing drills off the tee well before their series opener against the Boston Red Sox.
Judge has been in a catastrophic slump since the All-Star Break, hitting a measly .181/.342/.349 with seven home runs and 67 strikeouts. Manager Joe Girardi gave Judge a few days off in the Cleveland series and dropped him to sixth in the order in Game One against Boston.
