The New York Giants got some good news regarding star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. before their final preseason game.

Ever since the New York Giants lost star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to an ankle injury against the Cleveland Browns, it’s been a race against the clock trying to get him back in time for the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

The team got some encouraging news on that front today, as video of Beckham catching passes during warm-ups before the final preseason game against the New England Patriots surfaced.

Yes, OBJ didn’t do any running. He stood still and moved a bit laterally, so he still has a long way to go. Still, this is a very encouraging sign for the Giants. as their offense looks completely different—and is nowhere near as explosive—without him on the field.

The team will need to see him make catches on the run at full speed, as well as be able to cut on his ankle before he can be declared ready for Week 1. The last part is key, as if he can’t cut he won’t be able to get open.

But just seeing him on the field going through some workouts is a good sign. Maybe, just maybe, the Giants will have their full offensive arsenal ready to take on the Cowboys.
