Today’s Blueshirt Beat looks at another impressive performance by a New York Ranger prospect in the goal.

New York Rangers prospect Igor Shesterkin made his KHL debut playing for St. Petersburg SKA and he ended up winning the game with some conviction. He recorded 27 saves in a 2-0 shutout victory against Jokerit.

Shesterkin was the Rangers fourth round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He joins Lias Andersson and Filip Chytil as Rangers showing off in their opening week of play in their respective leagues.

Twitter Between Teammates Gets Intense

With Henrik Lundqvist and Mats Zuccarello announcing their charity hockey game in Oslo, Norway next year, some of their Ranger teammates have been having a little fun with them.

Captain Ryan McDonagh was concerned about which team he would play for: the Kings or Zuccarello’s. Ranger forward Michael Grabner thinks McDonagh would be in charge of another part of the game. Nice to see some team banter before they even hit the ice.

J.T. Miller has had a good summer

Matt Calamia of Rangers.com caught up with forward J.T. Miller to see what he has been up to this summer. Miller said  “A couple of weddings. I played a lot of golf. Just hanging out.”

In regards to his workouts, Miller told Calamia,I started working out and training the beginning of June. I started skating again [in the middle of July]. It’s good. When I’m not skating, I go to the track and do my track training from 9 to 10 and then go to the gym after that for about an hour and a half every day. It started as Tuesdays and Thursdays we skate in the afternoon. Then we’ll move to skating almost every day.”
