Today’s Blueshirt Beat begins with some fancy foot work in net by the king, Henrik Lundqvist.
New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist posted a quick video on his Twitter page, showing off some of his foot work drills. It’s a sign of relief to see he has no issues from the knee injury he suffered in May at the World Championships. Training camp is still a few weeks away but Lundqvist is already working out to prepare for the upcoming season.
Another Rangers player who is already on the ice is forward Mats Zuccarello. He was skating in his Right To Play charity hockey game — and in typical Zuccarello fashion, he found the back of the net.
To show how much hockey players appreciate their fans, look no further than this picture of our captain, Ryan McDonagh, as he was signing autographs for fans long after his game was over. As the tweet says, “Total class all the way.”
Take a look at this photo that was put out on Twitter by Butch Goring. If you look towards the back, you will see the Rangers own Ron Duguay, with his hair flowing as always. The picture is from the 1981 Canada Cup series. It was a great exhibition between the Russian team and Team Canada, which consisted of NHL players.
