One day, Kevin Durant is again going to test free agency. But he’s made it clear that he won’t be considering the New York Knicks as a possible destination.

Kevin Durant, the reigning NBA Finals MVP, has spent some time in New York this summer. Yesterday he was balling with Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and a few others in a pickup game.

Back in July, Durant was in New York to unveil his charitable foundation’s court renovation at the Lower East Side Playground. The court will be used by two schools—East Side Community School and Girls Prep—but will be open to the public on nights and weekends.

During the event, which you can see highlights of on his YouTube channel, he spoke to the kids in attendance and signed autographs. Durant shared his respect for New York Basketball, calling the “Mecca of Basketball” the close second-best hoops hotbed, putting Washington D.C. slightly ahead.

Of course, he would have Washington D.C. as the best, as that’s where he grew up.

He also answered questions from fans. One of those questions—”When are you coming to the Knicks, man?” Durant quickly shot back “Never.”

Come on, man! You can never say never! The Knicks could one day form another super team. I’m sure Durant would want to join them then and get another cupcake ring.
