The New York Yankees defeated their crosstown rivals while also making some pretty cool history in the process.

The New York Yankees own New York once again! After taking Game 1 of the Subway Series, the Yankees also gained a game on the Boston Red Sox.

A successful evening, no doubt! During the game, Aaron Hicks, Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez all homered to aid in the victory. Little did we know that they all reached a major milestone on the same night.

What are the odds that these three players would reach the same milestone on the same night? I don’t know the answer to that, but it seems quite unlikely.

Sanchez launched his 20th homer, while Judge hit his American League-leading 36th home run this season. Hicks added his 12th on the season for the go-ahead home run.

We’re used to Judge home runs, but all three exploding at the same time helped the Yankees fight back against a rough loss to the Red Sox last night.

What’s a day during this season without at least SOME moves. Yesterday, the Yankees recalled Luis Cessa prior to his start and made another corresponding move in the process.

Caleb Smith pitched in three games for the Yankees to an 0-1 record with a 7.20 ERA.

Moving back to last night’s game, the Subway Series is bound to have some famous faces in the crowd. Last night, the most appropriate person was in the audience to see Hicks’ home run.

The guy behind the name “A-A-Ron” was hanging out at the Stadium and he got to witness the guy who would be wearing that nickname for Player’s Weekend crush a home run.

I hope that makes your day, Key. You picked the right game to attend.

The Yankees took Game 1 and look to fight again in Game 2. Let’s see these Yankees escape the Subway Series with a sweep.
