The NBA released their schedule for opening week. The New York Knicks start the season on the road against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The New York Knicks have their opening night opponent for the 2017-18 season. They’ll be traveling to Oklahoma City and taking on Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and the new-look Thunder.

The only question is whether or not Carmelo Anthony will be there when the game is broadcast on TNT on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 8:00 p.m. We know Kristaps Porzingis will.

Regardless of who’s on that Knicks squad, they’ll be a heavy underdog on opening night heading into one of the best homecourt advantages in the Association.

The NBA also released their Christmas Day schedule and New York is on there for the second season in a row. Last season’s thriller against the Boston Celtics leaves the Knicks with high expectations for this year. A win would be nice.

In 2017-18, they face another division rival – the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers come into the season in a different spot. They have lofty expectations with a stacked young core of prospects led by Joel Embiid.
