New York Knicks‘ Carmelo Anthony reportedly has no interest in waiving his NTC to go to New Orleans and play with DeMarcus Cousins.

Carmelo Anthony isn’t going to New Orleans. No matter how much DeMarcus Cousins might want the New York Knicks to trade his buddy there. They make good Olympic teammates, but that’s where it stops.

Marc Berman of The New York Post reports that the ten-time All-Star has told the Knicks he won’t waive his no-trade clause to join the Pelicans. Anthony isn’t interested in playing basketball anywhere but a big market and New Orleans isn’t that.

It’s not just about off the court stuff this time though, Anthony is a poor fit for the Pelicans. Right now, he’s more of a stretch four in any offense, and New Orleans doesn’t need that. They already have the far superior Anthony Davis filling that role.

Davis and Cousins both had usage percentages over 32 percent. Anthony’s was just a shade under 30 (29.1 percent). There wouldn’t be enough ball to go around anyway.

It was an excellent effort from Boogie (kind of), but did anyone think Melo would agree to go to New Orleans?

The latest round of NBA pickup game on social media involved Carmelo Anthony and Portland Trail Blazers star guard C.J. McCollum.

McCollum notably recruited Anthony to play in Portland earlier this summer. Naturally, rumors of Melo to Portland will start up again.

Maybe a couple good NBA players are just playing a basketball game?
