According to Spike Eskin of Sportsradio WIP in Philadelphia, the New York Knicks will host the 76ers at Madison Square Garden on Christmas.

For the second straight season the New York Knicks will be playing on Christmas, and for the second consecutive season, they are matched up against a division rival.

New York is inviting the Philadelphia 76ers and number one overall pick Markelle Fultz to Madison Square Garden on December 25th, per Spike Eskin. No time was announced, but many have speculated that a noon tip-off time would be the most likely scenario.

The two squads are in different places entering next season. While the Knicks are entering a huge rebuilding season, the 76ers feel like they are finally over their own.

Christmas has not been too kind to the Knicks in recent memory.

They last won a Christmas Day game during the lockout-shortened season of 2011 against the Boston Celtics. Since then the team has lost four straight Christmas Day games against the Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics.

This will be the teams first Christmas Day matchup since 1978, a 109-94 76ers win in New York.
