NHL Network reveals its top 10 goalies. New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist finishes eighth on the list. Fair or crazy?

The National Hockey League came out with its top 10 goalies currently playing in the NHL. Funny thing about lists of this variety, no matter who is number one or who is number 10, there will always be controversy and drama. No one is ever going to agree with a list like this, myself included.

You can take a look at the full story at NHL.Com to see where these goalies line up. New York Rangers living legend Henrik Lundqvist was ranked eighth on this list.

Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price was ranked number one, with Caps goalie Braden Holtby ranked number two. The two-time Stanley Cup Champion Matt Murray of the Pittsburgh Penguins was ranked fourth. The surprise in these rankings, to me anyway, is Minnesota Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk ranked fifth and Edmonton Oiler goalie Cam Talbot ranked seventh, both ahead of Henrik Lundqvist.

As I already mentioned, there is plenty to discuss regarding these ranking which is a great topic considering it’s only August.

Lundqvist being ranked eighth isn’t a terrible thing. But when you look at the other goalies ahead of him it does make you wonder how these rankings were done. What were the criteria? Wins/losses, goals against, championships? Maybe individual awards won?

So, New York Rangers fans, hockey fans across the league, what would your top 10 goalies currently playing in the NHL right now? Comment below and let’s see how everyone’s rankings might differ from the NHL’s rankings.
