Kristaps Porzingis gave Knicks fans some comfort on Wednesday when he said that he hopes to play his entire career in New York.
Kristaps Porzingis is feeling good on his birthday, and Knicks fans should be feeling the same. Their unicorn’s attitude about the franchise he was previously at war with has seemingly changed.The 22-year-old spoke to Shaun Powell of NBA.com in South Africa before Saturday’s NBA Africa Game. Porzingis changed his tune when speaking about his future in New York, calling the Big Apple his “home.”

“So far it’s been tough in New York, but my journey is only beginning and I hope to stay there my whole career, so as a city we can have some fun and win some games and do something big.”
After Porzingis infamously blew off his exit meeting in protest of the team’s negative culture, there was cause for concern. Then there were reports of then team president Phil Jackson attempting to trade the budding star.
With Jackson gone, the tension appears to have been smoothed over between Porzingis and New York. Even though it can’t be easy for him to watch his good friend Carmelo Anthony in trade rumors.
Anthony spoke Wednesday publicly for the first time in four months. He maintained that he hadn’t met with the Knicks this summer and smiled when he was asked about a potential move to the Houston Rockets.
