New York Giants: Odell Beckham Jr. Wants to Be NFL’s Highest Paid Player (Video)

New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. has lofty goals. They include becoming the NFL’s highest paid player.

That’s right. Odell Beckham Jr. doesn’t just want to become the NFL’s highest paid wide reciever—he wants to be the highest-paid player in the game. Not only does he want it, but he believes that it’s going to happen.

It was just one of many proclamations the star wideout made in a short film from UNINTERRUPTED titled “Odell.”

“It’s like the elephant in the room and you don’t want to talk about it. I’ve gotten to a point in my life where I’m like, there’s no need to not talk about it. I believe that I will be, not just the highest paid receiver in the league, but the highest paid, period.”

He’s torched opposing defenders since the New York Giants made him the 12th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, averaging 96 receptions, 1,374 yards, and 12 touchdowns a season.

With numbers like that, it’s hard to argue against OBJ landing the biggest payday in NFL history. Of course, Beckham Jr. isn’t satisfied with those numbers—he thinks he can do better.

“I got to a spot now where I feel like the things I used to do aren’t good enough,” he says in the video. “It’s unrealistic for me to not think that I’m going to have two touchdowns and 100 yards in every single game.”

But before you start thinking that OBJ is all about himself, he’s still gunning for his ultimate goal.

“I don’t sleep, I don’t dream, I don’t take naps. I’m up right now. I can rest after holding up a trophy.”
