Friday, Hartford Wolfpack general manager Chris Drury announced the signing of the seven-year veteran to an AHL contract.
Eric Selleck, who has spent the bulk of his professional career in the American Hockey League, has joined the New York Rangers AHL affiliate in Hartford.
The 6-foot-3, 218-pound forward has spent the last three years in the Arizona Coyotes organization. He played in one NHL game for the Coyotes, drawing one major penalty. He also appeared in two games with the Florida Panthers in the 2012-13 season.
Selleck has played with several teams in the AHL: the Tucson Roadrunners, Rochester Americans, Springfield Falcons, San Antonio Rampage, Chicago Wolves and Portland Pirates.
Over 438 career AHL games, he has registered 44 goals and 63 assists for 107 points, along with 1,187 penalty minutes. Nothing more than organizational depth, it will take a series of injuries with the Rangers for him to get any ice time at Madison Square Garden.
The Wolfpack will open their season on Friday, October 6 against the Charlotte Checkers.
