While Dennis Smith Jr. stands at just 6-foot-2, he was able to throw down one of the most mind-blowing windmill dunks the internet has ever seen.
Who says little guys can’t play ball? Because yesterday a 6-foot-2 player debunked that myth with one awesome, rim-rattling moment of greatness.
Yesterday, a video surfaced of Dallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. jumping high enough that his head was above the rim as he threw down a vicious windmill dunk.
New York Knicks forward Kyle O’Quinn was quick to recognize just how absurd the dunk was, and even tweeted his prediction of Smith Jr. winning Rookie of the Year honors next season.
In his one year with North Carolina State, Smith Jr. averaged over 18 points, six assists, nearly five rebounds and two steals per game, while often seen posterizing defenders twice his size.
Step aside Glenn Robinson III and Zach Lavine, there’s a new dunker in town and he’s ready to absolutely dominate the dunk contest.
Perhaps the Knicks should have taken Smith Jr. over Frank Ntilikina? Only time will tell.
