The long-awaited first at-bat for New York Yankee Todd Frazier at the Stadium was definitely not what he expected at all.

The New Jersey native is back at home. Finally.

After coming to the New York Yankees alongside David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle in a trade last week, Todd Frazier and the entirety of his hometown were anticipating his first at-bat at Yankee Stadium.

Well, it was certainly not what him, or any of us anticipated. In fact, it was the absolute worst thing that could ever happen in the history of the game.

Yeah, it was that unfortunate. Frazier grounded into an easy double play with the bases loaded, which was then turned into a triple play by a baserunning blunder by Didi Gregorius.

And amid all the chaos, a run still scored, putting the Yankees up 1-0. I mean, you can’t write this stuff.

Frazier also told Bryan Hoch today that he was expecting between “500-600 people from Tom’s River, NJ to attend tonight’s game.” Well, they all witnessed history. Just not the good kind.

And guess what? Frazier has driven in two runs in a Yankees uniform. Tonight, the one run came on a triple play. The other came on a double play.

You can’t make this stuff up.

There’s still time to turn it around. Frazier still has at-bats in today’s game to impress his hometown crowd. But as of right now, all you can do is laugh.

Of all the things that he can do, Frazier choose the oddest option of all. Hey, at least the run scored…right?
