The New York Knicks are taking their sweet time trading Carmelo Anthony, but the ten-time All-Star’s focus remains on the Houston Rockets.

The latest trade rumor on New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony was that he and the Oklahoma City Thunder were “circling each other.” Whatever that means.

The thought of Anthony teaming up with Russell Westbrook and Paul George is intriguing although unlikely.

Despite the surprising OKC news, Frank Isola of The New York Daily News reports that Melo’s camp “is optimistic that a deal with the Rockets is going to happen.” Isola also states that Anthony’s “primary objective” is getting to Houston.

The 33-year-old seems intent on teaming up with good friend Chris Paul and fellow star guard James Harden in Houston. An awkward reunion with Mike D’Antoni hasn’t swayed him from the option.

The trade rumors keep coming every day. The Portland Trail Blazers were in there for awhile too, but things always seem to come back to the Rockets. If Anthony wants to win, Houston and OKC make the most sense.

Wherever Anthony ends up, it’s only a matter of time until this deal goes down.
