The New York Yankees finally (YES) won a game on the West Coast last night so wake up to a groggy, late-morning edition of the Bomber Buzz.

The Seattle Mariners and King Felix had nothing on the reinvigorated New York Yankees. But more on that later.

What we really want to discuss today is Jacoby Ellsbury. We all know him quite well. He’s a good guy, a pretty solid player (most days) and we’re paying him a lot of money.

So what in the world was he doing last night?

I’ll give you a closer look. Maury Brown, a Forbes contributor, posted this video showing Ellsbury with a mysterious-looking list inside his baseball cap in the outfield.

So what’s your take? Is it really a cheat sheet or is that too obvious? It could be his grocery list for after the game. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an inspirational note reminding him not to get hurt again or he could lose his job as the starting centerfielder.

Or maybe it says, “child, birth control, baby, pull out stuff,” like another famous, high-contract player. The world may never know.

But back to that game. The Yankees found themselves in the middle of a pitching duel, sending out stud Luis Severino to face arguably one of the best pitchers on the West Coast in the form of Felix Hernandez.

Trading five scoreless innings, the Yankees finally got one on the board with a solo shot by Brett Gardner, his 16th of  the season.

The Yankees added three more in the eighth and ninth on an Aaron Judge RBI single and a massive throwing error by former Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.

Naturally, Aroldis Chapman had to make it interesting, giving up an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth. But the Yankees closed it up easily, earning the victory by a score of 4-1.

Just as a side note, the Yankees are 13-0 this season when Brett Gardner homers. So bring on the moonshots, baby!

Get some rest because tonight is another late one for us Yankees fans. Tune in at 10:10 PM ET to see if the Yankees can win two in a row.
