New York Mets ace Noah Syndergaard is so excited about touching the baseball again that Marvin Gaye is playing in the background.

As of this moment, Zach Wheeler is on the mound at Citi Field battling in a scoreless contest against the St. Louis Cardinals. (Naturally, Keith Hernandez is doing the game, as per usual when the Red Birds are in the mix.)

But anyway, the actual game wasn’t the big storyline of the day for the Metsies. Rather, the buzz focused around Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey starting a throwing program prior to the game.

Mets ace Thor was so excited about touching and feeling that baseball that he prompted a message so damn provocative that everybody’s favorite Marvin Gaye tune suddenly started playing in minds everywhere:

That’s right Noah and Mr. Rawlings … go ahead and get it on:

Syndergaard hasn’t pitched this season since Apr. 30 in D.C. when he was pulled after favoring his right side which turned out to be a torn right lat.
