The New York Rangers have signed Filip Chytil, one of the club’s two first round draft picks in this past NHL Draft.

New York Rangers GM Jeff Gorton announced that the Rangers signed 17-year-old Filip Chytil to a three-year entry level contract. Chytil was selected in the first round, 21st overall in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Chytil played in 38 games with PSG Zlin in the Czech Extraliga this past season where he scored four goals and four assists for eight points along with 16 penalty minutes. Chytil ranked second among players that were younger than 18 years old in the league in games played, goals, and points during the season.

Soon after this announcement, Chytil took to twitter to express how happy he was signing his contract and thanking family, agents, friends, teammates and coaches.
