Knicks State of Mind Podcast, Phil Jackson's Departure, Replacements, & Free Agency (Audio)

Chip Murphy and Matt Castillo are back with another Knicks State of Mind Podcast as they discuss Phil Jackson replacements and NBA free agency.

Episode nine of the Knicks State of Mind Podcast was one that could not come fast enough for our host Chip Murphy and Matt Castillo. Obviously, this was due because of the news of Phil Jackson’s departure from the organization.

Chip and Matt were joined by fellow Elite Sports NY contributor Frank Todaro, who is a Phil Jackson supporter. Just like they promised they brought in someone who was on Jackson’s side.

The three discussed Jackson’s three-year tenure as the Knicks president of basketball operations. Also, they gave their reactions to the news of Jackson’s departure.

In the second segment, the three discussed the possible replacement options for Jackson. They talk about some of the names they have been hearing such as David Griffin as well as other names like Sam Presti and Mesai Ujiri, and why they may not be the smartest options.

Finally, the show wraps up talking about the lack of activity thus far in free agency by the New York Knicks. Also, they talk Knicks summer league basketball.
