The New York Knicks have reportedly spoken to Rajon Rondo, but they have not set up a meeting with the point guard.
Rajon Rondo to the New York Knicks feels like a thing that was bound to happen at some point. Well, the Knicks aren’t exactly showing tremendous interest, but they have at least made contact with the veteran point guard.
Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders was first to report that the Knicks have spoken with Rondo.

Stefan Bondy reports that the Knicks don’t have a meeting scheduled with Rondo and Marc Berman of The New York Post further backs up the lack of serious interest by stating Wednesday is the first day the Knicks have spoken to Rondo at all.

Rondo is also a target of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers. The latter are coached his former Celtics coach Doc Rivers. It’s more likely Rondo heads out west than comes to the Big Apple.
The two most likely options are still Derrick Rose and Shelvin Mack. Rose showed what he was last season and that’s not an appropriate mentor for Frank Ntilikina.
If they want that guy, New York should aim more towards Mack or Rondo.
