Despite previous reports, the New York Knicks still consider Derrick Rose a serious option at the point guard spot.

The Derrick Rose era in New York may not be over after all.

According to ESPN’s Ian Begley, the Knicks have reached out to the former MVP.

Via Begley:

Per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, Rose is a serious option for the Knicks at this point because they are looking for a point guard and many of the top PGs are not on the board.

Fellow point guard George Hill is currently New York’s reported top free agent target. However, as Begley points out, the financial situation would be easier to maneuver with Rose.

Right now, Hill is the more valuable player. He’s a better shooter and a better defender. The Knicks need both of those things, but if they miss on Hill Rose is probably the next option.

Unfortunately, the Knicks and Rose may have to settle for each other.
