Josh Norris of Baseball America is reporting that the New York Yankees will recall top outfield prospect Dustin Fowler prior to Thursday’s contest against the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Fowler, 22, owns a .291/.327/.530 slash line with 13 home runs — one more than Clint Frazier for the team lead — and 42 RBIs in 69 games for the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders and leads the International League in triples (8).
Across five minor league seasons, New York’s 18th round pick of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft from West Laurens HS owns a .763 OPS. In his non-roster invite to spring training with the big boys this season, Fowler went 9-for-39 (.231) with five stolen bases.
