After cutting ties with Phil Jackson earlier this morning, New York Knicks owner James Dolan has his sights set on getting Masai Ujiri as his new president of basketball operations.
In the wake of firing three-year president Phil Jackson early Wednesday morning, New York Knicks owner James Dolan is already on the hunt for his replacement.According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Dolan is eyeballing Toronto’s Masai Ujiri as his new president of basketball operations.
In his time with the Raptors, Ujiri has helped built a playoff product year in and year out throughout his four-year tenure with them.
Ujiri, though, is also well documented when it comes to making deals with Dolan. In fact, he was with the Denver Nuggets when the Knicks made the three-team megadeal to acquire Carmelo Anthony and also made the Andrea Bargnani trade with them back in 2013.
The interest level on Ujiri’s part is unknown at the moment, as he remains under contract in Toronto.
