When the New York Islanders take the ice in October, the schedule will be very favorable.
The New York Islanders’ 2017-18 schedule is finally here. The Isles open their season on October 6 in Columbus and come home the next night for their home opener against the Buffalo Sabres.
This year’s calendar is much kinder to the Isles, who had a three-week, nine-game road trip in March of last season. In 2017-18, they have no road trip longer than four contests and play eight of their last 11 at home.
Some key dates for this season:
- The Isles and Rangers go at it four times this year: Oct. 21, Jan. 13, Feb. 15, and Apr. 5, with the latter two in Barclays Center.
- The Vegas Golden Knights make their first appearance in Barclays Center on Oct. 30.
- The Islanders have six Saturday night and five Friday night games at the Barc this season.
- The defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins come to town on Jan. 5 and Mar. 20.
- Newly acquired forward Jordan Eberle returns to Edmonton on March 8.
