The New York Knicks have fallen into an organizational abyss during Phil Jackson’s leadership. Agents and players plan to stay away.

It’s not a surprise that nobody wants to be a Knick. Team president Phil Jackson alienated his team’s two best players, Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, while the rest of the league looked on in shock.

We all wondered what this guy could be doing, and now his behavior has finally caught up with him. Jackson’s public campaign to get rid of Anthony bugged Porzingis. That led to the infamous missed exit meeting.

Now there are rumors of Jackson attempting to trade the best homegrown Knick since Patrick Ewing was drafted No. 1 overall in 1985. In case you’re late to the party, yes Phil Jackson is such an egomaniac he’s considering trading Porzingis.

This all culminates in how the league (most importantly players and agents) view Jackson and the Knicks as a whole. According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, it’s not good. Lowe says that the Knicks are a destination of absolute last resort.

When Jackson took over the Knicks, he claimed he would create a winning culture like the one he had during his time in New York as a player.

Instead, the Zen Master has created one of the most toxic environments in the Association, and that’s saying something. New York used to be a place of pride for free agents, but Jackson has ruined that.

The legendary head coach won’t shut up about trading his two best players, but who’s he going to replace them with? Nobody wants to play for him.
