Contrary to popular belief, Odell Beckham Jr wasn’t holding out due to contract demands after all. OBJ explained his current status with the Giants.

First off, let’s address the elephant in the room. Odell Beckham Jr. can’t holdout from something that’s voluntary. He skipped OTAs and many people started to speculate that it was because of his contract situation.

With the New York Giants set to start their mandatory minicamp this week, OBJ promptly returned. OBJ denied holding out for contract demands, instead, providing the response that he had been working out privately and “working on self-reflection.”

Really, he could’ve said anything. What does he owe anyone else to say what he’s doing on his time? He could’ve been chilling in his underwear in his mansion pounding down Captain Crunch. Who cares?

“However, Beckham said he’s never seen a holdout work, and never considered going down that route, according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan.”

“I would love to be here for the rest of my life,” Beckham said, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, regarding Giants co-owner John Mara’s comments about keeping him for the rest of his NFL career.
