Despite Lebron James putting forth a heroic 41 point effort and the Cavaliers cutting a 17 point lead to three in the fourth quarter, the Warriors prevailed. Thanks to Durant’s 39 point night on 14-20 shooting, as well as Stephen Curry‘s 34 and Andre Iguodala‘s 20, the Warriors were able to win their second NBA Finals’ in three years.

After winning games one and two in convincing fashion at home, the Warriors went out to Cleveland determined to close out the series, however, their efforts in doing so were halted.

After putting up a game three victory in the closing moments, the Warriors were unable to contain James and company, as they throttled their way to a game four victory in a 137-116 scoring outburst.

One of this series’ most remarkable storylines is Durant finally winning his first NBA title. Him doing so, as well as winning the Finals MVP cap off a truly special year for him and the Warriors as a whole.
