New York Knicks owner James Dolan appeared on Fox 5, and it was more of the same regarding his attitude towards the team and Charles Oakley.
James Dolan had a history of being a little too hands-on when it came to basketball operations with the New York Knicks. However, with Hall of Fame head coach Phil Jackson in charge Dolan has taken a step back.While appearing on Michael Kay’s radio show back in February, the 62-year-old businessman claimed he’s staying out of basketball operations. On Monday, he did the same thing during an appearance on Fox 5.
According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, Dolan maintained his innocence in New York’s most recent front office missteps and passed the buck down to his subordinates.
“It’s all Phil (Jackson, Knicks team president). It’s all Steve (Mills, Knicks general manager)…. I’m working on my music, they’re working on the basketball team.”
Per Begley, Dolan said that when he’s asked about the team, he has the same response as he did back in February “Ask Phil.”
For years Knicks fans wanted to Dolan to stay hands off and now it appears like he actually is. Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.
