The New York Knicks reportedly have a workout scheduled for Wednesday with former NC State point guard Dennis Smith Jr.

Dennis Smith Jr. is one of three guards with whom the New York Knicks have repeatedly been linked in the 2017 NBA Draft. The other two, Frank Ntilikina and Malik Monk, are yet to work out for the team.

Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog.com reports that Smith is working out for the Knicks on Wednesday.

We’re two weeks away from the draft. Private workouts like this one will start to become a telling sign of who New York is truly interested in before the big night.

Despite the fact that Smith doesn’t seem like a fit for the triangle offense, Phil Jackson and his staff want to give the former NC State floor general a shot anyway. That’s a good sign.

Smith’s former college coach raved about the kid, saying he had “Russell Westbrook-type athleticism.” That could be a bitch much.

However, he is regarded as one of the biggest wildcards in the draft. While Ntilikina may be a safer pick, he doesn’t have Smith’s star power.
