New York Yankees outfield prospect Dustin Fowler is on one of those hot streaks that starts to look like more than just a streak.

Dustin Fowler, the eighth-best prospect in the New York Yankees system by MLB Pipeline, has been unstoppable as of late and the hot streak is turning into a special stint down in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

In 32 games with the RailRiders in 2017, the 22-year-old owns a .290/.333/.536 slash line with five home runs and 19 RBIs in 147 plate appearances. He has also totaled seven doubles and six triples, helping him total 74 bases in 138 at-bats.

Since April 27, Fowler has gone 26-for-74 (.351) with an OPS of 1.055. Impressively, 12 of his 26 total hits have gone for extra-bases (3 HR, 5 3B, 4 2B). Overall, he’s slashing .351/.392/.662 in that span featuring a 5-for-6 day on April 30 in which he hit for the cycle and launched a walk-off blast in the 11th.

Fowler is currently leading the International League in triples (6) and ranks inside the Top-10 in hits (40), OPS (.870), slugging percentage (.536) and total bases (74).

New York’s 18th round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft is also getting the job done in the outfield, as has made just three errors in 60 total chances during his 249.1 innings between left, center and right.

According to MLB Pipeline, Fowler has worked diligently with instructor Reggie Willits to sharpen his reads and routes on balls. While initially climbing the farm system ladder, from he spent the majority of his time in the outfield on the corners but now, he has become a sure glove in center fielder for the RailRiders.

It’s certainly an interesting place to be in for both Fowler and the Yankees. The organization certainly has a glut of outfield prospects but their third-best outfield prospect is frankly becoming too good to get lost in the pack.
