According to his brother, young Kristaps Porzingis wants the New York Knicks to cultivate a culture of developing and winning.

Janis Porzingis, the brother of New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis, recently discussed his brother’s future with the organization with Ian Begley of ESPN New York.

Janis said his brother wants to remain in New York, as KP believes it is his home. The one thing Kristaps wishes from the Knicks, according to Janis, is “for the Knicks to create an environment where he can develop and grow as a player and win.”

Kristaps Porzingis has had an eventful time during the NBA Playoffs, even though he and his team are not playing any basketball games. Kristaps recently sent out a tweet (now deleted) which included the single word “Clippers” next to a bunch of smiley face emojis.

Before this, the Latvian skipped out on his exit meeting with Knicks President Phil Jackson.

Teams around the NBA have been reaching out to the Knicks about the possibility of acquiring the Knicks’ young star. The Knicks obviously are not looking to deal Porzingis, but if they were, Janis Porzingis believes his brother “would play out his contract and head into free agency, where he can choose his own destiny.”
