Former Brewers starter Tommy Milone struck out his first batter as a member of the New York Mets for just his second out in Queens.
In his first start for the New York Mets, Tommy Milone struck out both his second and third batters of the day in Eduardo Nunez and Hunter Pence, with Nunez falling victim to a low changeup.Milone is a welcome addition for the Mets, as their rotation has fallen into disarray with Noah Syndergaard going down with a long-term injury, while Steven Matz and Seth Lugo aren’t due back for at least a few weeks as well.
The southpaw is 45-33 during his seven-year career, posting a 4.21 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 121 starts.
Milone also has a unique history with the Mets — his first career win came against them in 2011, while he also homered in his first career at-bat against Dillon Gee in the same year.
