Recent reports are surfacing that New York Mets starting pitcher Matt Harvey was painting the town red for Cinco de Mayo prior to no-show.

Now we’re getting to the good stuff, the words and headlines that create a sense of feeling more drama around the New York Mets.

Just a couple days after Matt Harvey was suspended by his club, recent reports have surfaced that have completely contradicted his reasoning for why he was a no-show on Saturday.

According to Page 6 of the New York Post, Harvey was painting the town red all Friday night in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. According to Page 6’s sources, Harvey was partying pretty hard through the entire night in one of the hot spots in New York’s Meatpacking District.

Harvey, who makes $5.1 million and is 2-2 with a 5.14 ERA this season — rolled up on the velvet rope club “with his boys” at about 1 a.m. and settled into a private table, the sources said.

The star pitcher threw back a triple play of top-shelf booze, including Armand de Brignac “Ace of Spades” Champagne, Don Julio 1942 tequila and Belvedere vodka, witnesses said.

Harvey and his entourage kept to themselves until leaving the West 17th Street club, sources said.

Harvey’s account for his whereabouts, as reported by MLB insider Jon Heyman, were extremely different. He claimed that he was ill and reached out to pitching coach Dan Warthen at about 3 or 4 a.m. ET.

The Page 6 source, and others for that matter, even had Harvey playing golf on Saturday morning after the all-night party fest.

Either way, the Mets prevented the artist formerly known as The Dark Knight to make his regularly scheduled start on Sunday and suspended him for three days.

He’ll next pitch this coming Friday while on the road, away from the beating he’ll eventually take at Citi Field.
