Trailing 0-2 to the Ottawa Senators the New York Rangers and Tanner Glass have evened the series at 2-2 heading back to Ottawa for Game 5

  • New York Rangers (2-2)
  • Ottawa Senators (2-2)

  • Game 5, Saturday, May 6, 2017, NBC, 3 p.m.
  • Canadian Tire Center, Ottawa, Canada

A tale of two teams. The New York Rangers have been their own worst enemy in the series that had them with their backs against the wall heading to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday Night. The Rangers have been able to find their game with back-to-back 4-1 wins at home over the Ottawa Senators.

The New York Rangers were lost against the Ottawa Senators in game one. The boring 1-3-1 Ottawa Senators had found a way to shut down the potent Rangers offense. Blueshirt forwards were uneasy with the puck and often struggle to get through the neutral zone causing massive amounts of turnovers. Game 2 was an all out battle zone with terrible play on both sides of the puck. Even more importantly the coaching staff dropped the ball late in the game with the benching of Brady Skjei and Brendan Smith, out best defensive pair.

The Best is Yet to Come:

Games three and four yielded a completely different New York Rangers team. A team with poise, confidence, and the desire to get the job done. Shortly put the Ottawa Senators were dominated in all aspects of the game. In both games, late meaningless goals were scored on Henrik Lundqvist.

Concluding game 4 on Thursday night the Ottawa Senators decided they would try and “set the table” for game 5 by being “Physical”. Rangers nation is shaking in their boots, let me tell you. The Ottawa Senators are no match for the size, physicality, and grit then Rangers offer. In fact, Mats Zuccarello has thrown more cringe-worthy checks than any “enforcer” wearing red. Pathetic.

The Ottawa Senators have had a lead in the series for less than 5 minutes. If that doesn’t explain who has been the better team thus far i’m not sure what does. Bottom line: If the Rangers play like they did at MSG this series will end quickly. Also anyone else had enough of this Guy Boucher guy?

No medicine was given in Ottawa, only a spanking in New York. Thanks Guy. See you in Ottawa

In Tanner Glass We Trust

Hate it or love it Tanner Glass is back in full force. His insertion into the lineup has sparked the New York Rangers. The energy, grit, and physicality he provides is unmatched. Blocking shots, forechecking, grinding, the guy does it all. Not to mention he had two apples on Thursday night. Not bad Tanner, not bad at all. You have to love the mentality of this guy. Come in and do what you can to help the team win, Period.

If you’re one of those fans who are going to tell me “but he doesn’t contribute to the offense”, or “we need Buchnevich to spark the offense” read em’ and weep.
