When Kristaps Porzingis skipped his exit interview with the New York Knicks, other NBA teams around the league took notice.

The Knicks have one positive thing going for them. Kristaps Porzingis. Teams around the NBA know this. Players know this. Fans know this. Everybody seems to recognize this except the New York Knicks themselves.

According to Ian Begley of ESPN New York, multiple teams called Knicks President Phil Jackson looking to talk about the possibility of acquiring Porzingis after he skipped out on his exit meeting with the team.

Porzingis decided to forego meeting with Phil Jackson and Steve Mills due to frustration with the direction of the Knicks, including how they have been treating Carmelo Anthony.

This does not mean Kristaps Porzingis will be on the move, in fact, the likelihood of Porzingis being dealt in the foreseeable future is nothing more than a long shot.

The main takeaway here is teams around the NBA are starting to notice a growing friction between Porzingis and the Knicks. Will this friction lead to Porzingis’s eventual departure from the team? It is unlikely, but now there are whispers around the NBA that it is a possibility.
