So far in their first 26 games of 2017, the Yankees are 17-9, matching their record to begin the 2011 season and also being their best start to a season since then.
New York is tearing the ball apart on offense, entering Wednesday’s game they ranked atop the American League in home runs, RBI’s, runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, as well as placing second in batting average.
The Bronx Bombers have certainly been living up to their nickname as of late and if they do head in the same direction as they did in 2011, playoff baseball will be in the near future.
Next up, the Yankees made a minor roster move by bringing up Abiatal Avelino from Double-A to Triple-A in order to take Rob Refsnyder‘s spot, who was recently called up to the big leagues.
Refsnyder was called up a few days ago to replace an injured Greg Bird, who was struggling heavily before hitting the 10-day disabled list.
