New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge has gotten off to a blistering start, earning him the honor of American League Rookie of the Month.
We knew Aaron Judge was doing well. MLB just confirmed that theory regarding the New York Yankees outfielder.
Wednesday afternoon, Judge was announced as the AL Rookie of the Month for his hot month of April. The award was announced on The Rundown on the MLB Network, as reported by Christopher Carelli.
Judge has been tearing the cover off the ball since he won the starting position over Aaron Hicks in spring training, while also getting the job done defensively.
Offensively, he batted .303/.411/.750 during the month of April, including launching 10 home runs and driving in 20 all together.
His performance is even more impressive at the Stadium, where he is batting .386 with nine home runs.
Defensively, Judge has made numerous diving catches, including one into the cruel stands at Fenway Park. Right now, Judge ranks second in the American League with 2.3 WAR.
In addition to all these incredible stats, Judge also leads the league in home runs (12), slugging percentage (.795), runs scored (26) and OPS (1.219).
And Yankees fans have already started their “MVP” chants for the 6’7″ dynamo.
