We take an early glance at the 2017 New York Jets depth chart while breaking down California wide receiver Chad Hansen.

Safeties and cornerbacks. Does Mike Maccagnan love these guys or what?

Actually, we made need to formulate a new type of Claritin — perhaps a Claritin for fear of drafting O-linemen. Aside from moving up for Brandon Shell a season ago, he simply refuses to do it.

In any event, the New York Jets safety and wide receiver depth is pretty damn insane.

On Sunday, we broke down this early glance at the 2017 depth chart. It’s evident three spots are locked down: safety, wide receiver and defensive line.

Unfortunately, that’s it.

Fortunately, that doesn’t mean his choices over the weekend won’t garner great NFL talent.

One such guy is California wideout Chad Hansen. Through two playing seasons at Cal., Hansen racked up 111 receptions, 1,498 yards and 12 touchdowns.

What type of WR is he? This is the most important question. On our depth chart, we believe he’ll fit into this league as a slot guy, a Julian Edelman type who’s bigger.

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller calls Hansen an Eric Decker clone. At 6-foot-1 and 202 pounds, it’s easy to see why.
